In addition to producing market-size salmon for human consumption, LAXEY will utilize part of its production capacity to raise and sell high-quality post-smolt to other aquaculture companies. This dual approach provides operational flexibility and enables revenue generation ahead of reaching full harvest volumes.
The transfer was carried out smoothly, with the fish pumped directly from LAXEY’s post-smolt facility into the well-boat of our partner. The operation was supported by thorough planning and preparation to ensure a safe and efficient delivery.
LAXEY’s location in Vestmannaeyjar offers a strategic advantage for such deliveries. Natural shelter and direct access to open sea routes make the site exceptionally well-suited for both domestic and export-oriented post-smolt transfers.
